----------------------------------------

I look at some of Imma´s works as “human marines”, not only for the
highlighted area, which indicates a maritime air, docks, beaches, but also because of the tones used, from which stand out the blues and whites, charged with a strong daily light, lateral in many of the cases, which projects a shadow, the only thin we can observe from what is surrounding the characters, themselves and their projections.
The rest remains at a second level, at first in a synthetic form, as in the case of docks with blue and still water. Later, the artist completely gets rid of a figurative background, placing the figure in a void which doesn´t give us the least possibility of diverting from the message: “the urban individual, in a relaxing moment, of inner silence, of calm, evokes a parallel world from which came out different, full of stillness and atemporality”.
Youth, beauty and the state of serenity lead the spectator to envy the picture characters and to identify with them. Who has not felt dragged to another world while spending some minutes of calm under a pleasant sunny day? It´s like a union moment with the light which leads you to nothing, because nothing outside you exists, only an immense peace and stillness, an instant which you don´t want to let go. It´s a way of extending this moment.

Sun, light, wellness, quietness, stillness, peace; the main characters of her work seem to have abandoned the world as it is, the dull and the ordinary, to be raised to a world almost divine, endless in its moment of youth and beauty. It evokes remote times, such as the Greek or Egyptian culture maybe a mixture of both, a Greek cannon incarnated in today´s world.
The tail of her work makes me think of the creative way which leads the artist to create different subjects and the way of capturing them. The artist starts recreating reality as it is, and then he slowly starts interpreting it in a personal way, portraits, landscapes, marines; marines that fade with the action of water. In the picture, the cascades, the painting turned liquid, again portraits and human figurex but now invaded by this blurred humidity, areas which even cover the figures in order to give it a new sense to the vision and intention of the work, women in many occasions.
Momentarily one is beguiled by the water, and finally it is this water, that marine element gets into the figures to transform them in “human marines”, sea storms that gives shape to the serenity of the bodies.
